The first Escape This game we played was The Wizard's Chamber, which was gorgeous but had middling puzzles. The second one we played was Kraken: Nemo's Revenge, which we did not like at all. But I wanted to take the boys to their first escape room of 2026 and I saw that their newest room, Frankenstein Resurrection, was receiving some solid reviews. Now, I knew that the centrepiece of the game, a massive Frankenstein's monster prop, was purchased from Indestroom, which you can check out here if you want (Warning: Spoilers!). This was a big red flag, as my previous Indestroom experience, Jurassic Island, was one of the worst escape rooms I have ever played. Yet, we still decided to give it a try. Did I waste my money?
No! Our persistence and faith finally paid off! Frankenstein Resurrection turned out to be very fun and easily the best Escape This game we've played to date.
This was an example of how to do a purchased Indestroom experience the right way. Escape This did not simply buy the Frankenstein monster, throw it into an empty room, and start charging paying customers — they built the game around the centrepiece, creating a multi-space experience with modified and additional puzzles, as well as sound and lighting effects to add to immersion.
Admittedly, the earlier sections of the game did not have very many puzzles, and they were all rather easy, but it was good to see Escape This at least make an attempt to build a more diverse experience and ramp up to the monster.
The monster prop was fantastic. It was huge, looked great, and was equipped with excellent tech and hidden puzzles.
The game flow was much smoother in this game than our previous Escape This experiences, largely because it was guided by a notebook that points us in the right direction.
Though the specified difficulty for this room was 8/10, we found it to be relatively straightforward for the most part, with only a couple of trickier puzzles that required additional observation and/or contemplation.
Thankfully, while the room was dimly lit, it was bright enough for us to see when we needed to see. At my age, that is always appreciated.
The game is listed as 13+ but I think it would only scare younger kids who are afraid of the dark or can't tell that the monster is merely a prop.
I understand why it required at least 3 people, as there was one "memory" puzzle that would have been virtually impossible to do with anything less.
Escape time: 35 minutes and 36 seconds (new room record!)

Verdict: Frankenstein Resurrected is a fun, well-made game in which flowing puzzles, solid theming, and immersive lighting and sound effects combine to elevate its monstrous centrepiece above its Indestroom stigma.
