Update: The road to TERPECA and the quest for time

TERPECA season is officially upon us! When I started my escape room journey in July last year, I never thought I'd qualify as a voter so soon. But here we are — after our trip to Brisbane/Gold Coast last week and my upcoming solo trip to Melbourne (mainly to play Carnivorous at Containaphobia before it likely closes at the end of the year), I will sit at 99 in-person escape rooms played, just one shy of the threshold to qualify as a TERPECA voter.

Right now, I have Strange World's new room, Cabin Cult, lined up as No. 100 in early November, unless The Cipher Room's long-awaited Metamorphosis (which just announced that a launch date is coming shortly) is released first. I'll have until mid-November to register and vote, so time is of the essence!

On the other hand, I started this blog to keep track of the rooms we've played and so I'll have something to jog my memory when it's time to vote, but my backlog of reviews is really starting to pile up. I've wanted to get around to them since returning from Queensland, though work has had other plans.

Consequently, I'll probably have to streamline my reviews moving forward. I've enjoy writing detailed reviews for my own sake, but they're probably not ideal for readers anyway. Now all I need is a bit of time so I can start writing and posting.

I also have a few exciting overseas trips lined up, so who knows? Maybe I'll be a TERPECA nominator (200 rooms) sooner than expected.

Stay tuned.
