Dead Man on the Orient Express

EXIT: The Game

Age: 12+

Players: 1-4

Play Time: 1-2 hours

Difficulty: 2.5/5

With a bit of spare time in the school holidays and not being able to do a real escape room every day, we went back to playing EXIT: The Game, this time tackling one of their most highly rated ones, Dead Man on the Orient Express.

This turned out to be our favourite one. Perhaps because this one is a little easier, or because we have already played a few of these and have gotten the hang of the nature of the puzzles, the game flow was especially smooth. The train theme and the murder mystery was also more immersive than the other games, especially as we had to investigate different suspects and their carriages one by one.

What elevated Dead Man on the Orient Express above the other EXIT games we've played thus far is that, apart from solving puzzles, you also have to solve the murder mystery at the end based on all the clues you uncovered throughout the game. This tied the whole story together neatly to provide a satisfying conclusion — unless you fail to identify the correct culprit!

RATING: 9/10
