EXIT: The Game
Age: 12+
Players: 1-4
Play Time: 1-2 hours
Difficulty: 2.5/5
When there's nothing to do at home, our go-to now is to play an EXIT game. One of their most popular ones is The Abandoned Cabin (not to be confused with the real life escape room of the same name we recently did in Melbourne), an award winner that was actually quite hard to find both online and in shops.
Did it live up to the hype? Yes! The Abandoned Cabin is definitely one of the better EXIT games. If you've played a few of these, you will kind of know where to look and have some idea of the logic required to solve the puzzles. We must be getting the hang on it now, because we blitzed through The Abandoned Cabin pretty quickly for our best finish.
To be honest, these EXIT games can get quite frustrating and bewildering when they are too difficult or have clues that are way too tenuous or abstract. This one gets it just right, giving us a solid challenge with a mix of clever puzzles but not annoying us with anything finicky or ridiculous. Bravo.
