This was the third of our four rooms at Escape Reality on the Central Coast. This Jumanji-themed room was their second highest-rated game on Morty, and I made sure to check that this is an original game and not the generic Indestroom Jumanji game that can be found in multiple locations across Australia. Did it live up to expectations?

• This was a solid room that tried to replicate the Jumanji theming and vibe to varying degrees of success.

• It was decently sized with multiple spaces and a range of different sets, from a regular lounge room to the jungle.

• A common problem with such themes is infusion a sense of realism and immersion. Jungala did well in some aspects but not so well in some others, such as the "jungle", which was filled with tacky plastic and stuffed animals. I appreciated the effort of putting "animals" in a jungle room, but it did not serve the atmosphere well in my opinion.

• The linear puzzles were varied and included a mix of hunt and seek, padlocks, and tech puzzles. It wasn't a very difficult room, but we decided to ask for a clue when we got stuck on a puzzle. As it turned out, the reason we couldn't solve it was because we were doing it out of sequence and thus missing a key piece of information.

• Overall, we still had a fun time, though this was not a room that really stood out or was particularly memorable. It was perfectly adequate; I just had been hoping for more "wow" moments with this kind of theme.
