Limitless Escape Room (Taipei, Taiwan)

Time limit: 60 minutes
Age limit: None
Player limit: 3-6 (recommend 4-5)
Difficulty: Expert
Date visited: July 2025
Straight after Prison Break, we went back-to-back by heading into The Warrant, a spooky supernatural room in which you and your team have a search warrant to investigate an empty apartment linked to a missing girl.
Like Prison Break, the theming of The Warrant was solid but nothing special, decorated mostly with furniture/props needed for the puzzles — a combination of tech and padlocks — but not much more. However, the atmosphere was a step up thanks to the sound and lighting design, plus some clever tricks taken straight out of the horror movie handbook. That said, apart from a couple of well-timed jump scares, moments of darkness, and some creepy images that might make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, I wouldn’t call it a very scary room. Or maybe we’re just desensitised. One particular scare in the game is recorded by the GM and replayed to the team at the end. And our reaction was notably subdued compared to those in other videos our GM showed us. Some of their reactions were truly hilarious!
In terms of the puzzles, while Prison Break had more practical tasks in line with its theme, The Warrant had more traditional brain teasers that aligned with the cryptic ways ghosts tend to communicate with the living. I enjoyed the wide variety of problems and the different areas of the brain we had to exercise in order to solve them. Abstract thinking, mathematical reasoning, symbol recognition, jigsaw puzzles, and logical deduction were just some of the few types of puzzles we encountered. A section of the game even separates one player from the rest of the pack, and you must work together to get the rest of the team over to the other side. We were surprised when J — the youngest and also typically the scaredy cat of the family — volunteered to be the lone wolf, and he did exceptionally well to stay cool under pressure. Our GM told us that there were times when the lone player became so paralysed with fear that they refused to even move!
In the end, we escaped with under 2 minutes to spare, which was apparently quite good considering most teams fail to escape within the time limit and the average time was something like 68 minutes. Like Prison Break, we had a great time with The Warrant because of the impeccable puzzle design and flow. The only downer was a tech malfunction in one of the last sections of the room, requiring our GM to come in and fix it. It did cost us a bit of time, but didn’t detract from the overall experience.
The two rooms at Limitless are very close in terms of quality and difficulty. Z and I think The Warrant just edges Prison Break, while E and J preferred Prison Break a little more. Either way, these are two of the best English-friendly rooms you could play in Taipei. We look forward to playing the long-awaited third room, whenever that may be!
